Yorkshire-based artist, Mira Bogicevic, works intuitively from life, using oil on canvas to create intimate still life paintings. Although over twenty years elapsed between Mira’s introduction to oil painting when a student at Camberwell School of Art in the early 1980’s and her taking it up again, her tutors’ instructions to ‘paint what you know, not what you see’ and ‘leave information out, but don’t include what isn’t there’ are never far from her thoughts.

This website is the main showcase for Mira’s recent paintings, and also includes some older paintings for comparison, plus, examples of Mira’s textiles and sculpture, produced during the intervening years between college and re-discovering painting.
